The Godstone

The Godstone is an ancient artifact that was known to exist during the times of the Consortium, though there are rumors that it is even older. It is rumored that it gives the weilder the power to control the minds of all creatures within miles. The stone has passed through several hands and legends have connected it to the defeat of many ancient nations.

In recent history, locating the Godstone was the quest of a Knight of Veldron named Mordekai. The character of Mordekai was one of the main characters in The Closing Circle story arc. Mordekai was allied with Karandian mage Tarrik Aldarian on a quest to prevent the an apocolype brought about as a failsafe set in place by the ancient realms known as the Consortium.

During this Quest, members located the Godstone while in the far distant land of Yentar. The stone was in the possession of a group unofficially called "the mad mages," who were originally from the consortium era and were trapped in a curse that them bouncing around through history. Once the mad mages gave the stone to Tarrik and his fellow questors, their curse was broken.

A man known as Primor was hidden among among Tarrik's group as a spy. Primor stole the Godstone and used it against the questors to escape.

Primor was last seen at the hour of final judgement, with the Godstone in his possession. The 9 Arbiters of the Consortium gathered to determine the final judgement of the lands. Both Tarrik Aldarian and Primor stood before the Arbiters and argued their causes. The Arbiters sided with Tarrik and spared the lands of Xaria and beyond. The Arbiters took Primor and the Godstone with them, and walked through the Consortium Arches, entering "the Absence" forever lost to world.

The Godstone is a large green rough stone about the size of two fists. It has no markings, carvings or distinguishing marks upon it. When the stone's power is being used it glows with a green light from within.
